HOW TO USE ACUITY SCHEDULING WITH SQUARESPACE
***UPDATE: As of April 2019, Squarespace has acquired Acuity Scheduling and it’s no longer free. I know… I was disappointed too. For now, they’re extending the sign up period exclusively for Circle members to receive the Emerging plan on Acuity for free but only until July 31st. ***
I admit, up until now I’ve been using Calendly for scheduling my appointments with clients. And I’ve enjoyed it very much, but I just switched to Acuity Scheduling for two reasons.
It has a mobile app, which allows me to get booking notifications as they come.
Acuity Scheduling and Squarespace have partnered to offer members a free Emerging Entrepreneur Plan ($15/month value) forever!
Isn’t that amazing? Another reason to love Squarespace!
If you run a service-based business online, you need a seamless way to book appointments with your clients. Whether you offer free consultations, paid coaching sessions or any other virtual chats, there is a way to set these up like a pro.
Forget emailing with your client back and forth trying to come up with a time that works best for both of you. That is old-school and a waste of time.
There is already a simple integration between Squarespace and Acuity Scheduling. But now I’m going to give you step by step instructions on how to set it up and take advantage of the free Emerging Entrepreneur Plan.
SIGN UP FOR ACUITY SCHEDULING
First of all, you’ll need to sing up for an account with Acuity here.
If you already have an account and just need to upgrade your plan, use this link here instead.
Next, you’ll need to grab your own personal URL link from your Acuity account. To do that, just click Client’s Scheduling Page, then Scheduling Page Link. Copy the link beneath General Scheduling Page to embed your scheduling page.
ADD ACUITY BLOCK IN SQUARESPACE
Now you’ll need to go to your Squarespace account and insert the Acuity block on the page you wish to have it on.
Open that page to edit it and click the + sign to add a new block. From there scroll down and choose Acuity.
A window will pop up letting you paste in the URL you copied from your Acuity account earlier. Do that now click apply to save.
Here’s a sample of what the Acuity block will look like at this point on your page.
If you’d rather have a simple button that clients can click on to book their appointment, you can do that too.
In this case, instead of inserting the Acuity block, you’d choose a button block instead. Then you’d just need to link that button to your Client's Scheduling Page directly. You can obtain this link from you Acuity account as well.
SET UP YOUR AVAILABILITY
Before you go ahead and share your scheduling link with clients, make sure to set up some appointment types in Acuity and update your availability.
This way, when visitors are directed to your link, they’ll be able to see the time slots you’ve provided and pick their best option. And if you are in different time zones, you don’t need to worry because Acuity will automatically convert to everyone’s own time. This way nobody will show up at the wrong time because of a communication error!
DOWNLOAD THE APP
Now that everything is set up, you can go ahead and download the Acuity app on your phone or tablet. Once you’ve downloaded it, just sign in and turn on notifications in the app settings.
You don’t have to do this step if you don’t want to, but I personally love it because it means I don’t have to rely on seeing email notifications in time to make my appointments. It’s just a nice bonus :)
