HOW TO CREATE A WEBSITE YOUR IDEAL CLIENTS WILL LOVE
Here’s the truth: your website should be designed for your ideal client.
The goal of a website isn’t just to sit there looking pretty. There’s much more to it. It needs to appeal to your ideal clients, so that they feel like your offers are exactly what they need.
Having said that, there are a few things you can do to ensure that happens.
1. CHOOSE SITE STYLES & COLOURS WISELY
Once you’ve gotten clear on your ideal client avatar (ICA), it’s time to make sure your site is their happy place. After all, your website is really for them, not you. Make sense?
So to get started, follow your ICA around a little bit online. I know this may sound a bit ‘stockery’, but it isn’t meant to be creepy. All you gotta do is check out some of their existing online accounts (social media profiles etc.) and see if there’s a common aesthetic theme you’re noticing.
Are they using certain styles and colours everywhere? Are you noticing some common characteristics in the visuals they’re using? Make notes of everything you’re noticing.
2. PLAN YOUR SITE DESIGN ACCORDINGLY
Now that you’ve gotten some ideas of what your ICA is into, create your own brand style that you think they’ll love.
You can do this by creating a vision board on Pinterest. Collect a bunch of images that reflect the style of your ICA to keep as inspiration for designing your site.
3. CREATE YOUR SITE BASED ON YOUR DISCOVERIES
Now that you’ve got all the necessary information, it’s time to get cracking on creating your website in a way that’s meant to appeal to your ideal client.
Keep the vision board you’ve created earlier handy because you’ll need to refer to it all the time as you create each web page.
After you complete each page, make sure to review it like you’re doing it from their perspective. Ask yourself if this is truly something you think your ICA will enjoy and find useful. Tweak as necessary until you achieve your goal.
